ophelia, secret santa

#equimanipulate Secret Santa for =Schwartze's wonderful Ophelia! I almost exploded with joy when I opened my Secret Santa note. Ophelia is such an incredible, wonderfully complex character and Tamme writes her so beautifully. I've had the honor of stalking role-playing with her, and she is one of my favorite characters on the site of Helovia.

But gosh, I started over countless times, striving to get it perfect. Okay, it was more like four shots to get it right, but still! I started to panic when nothing would fall together properly, and I so badly wanted it to be perfect! Once I accepted its imperfections, I relaxed and things went more smoothly. c:

I wanted to give a more light-hearted feel to the image than I might have originally, because from what I understand from constant stalking, Ophelia has a pretty tragic history. But her memories have recently been erased, and so I thought I would try to portray this carefree, oblivious side of her, with just a shadow of darkness balanced with the light of a new day. The sunflower is a gift for the Sun God, whom she has a special, gentle relationship with.

I know I certainly didn't do her justice, but I sure tried. I hope you like it, Tamme! Merry Christmas.
